Rising Regime returns with the next chapter in their epic horror saga! The False Path, the sequel to Rising Regime’s debut album, stays true to a death/thrash metal style and incorporates a heavy groove element to the mix. Rising Regime’s frontman and founder, Darrell Ritsick, recruited drummer Rushton Stegall in late 2019 . The duo has been hard at work in Greenville, SC to bring an onslaught of metal madness to your ears through songs like “Conspiracy”, “Last Chance”, and “Deify (Frankenstein!)”.
“One thing that the fans will enjoy is trying to put a label on us,” said Ritsick. “We clearly have a strong foundation of thrash and death metal, but you’ll be able to hear so many other influences especially now with Rushton on drums. One of my favorites is “Legion”. It’s a bit of a departure from the first album because it’s such a monster of a song at 8 minutes or so. It might have some of the catchiest riffs I’ve ever written similar to what you might hear from bands like Iron Maiden. We’re really proud of that one. I can’t wait for people to hear it.”
“When I heard Survive or Die for the first time I thought it was such a banger of an album. I was even more impressed when I discovered that Ritsick wrote and produced the entire thing himself. Not often do you find a project that’s just one guy doing everything but to do that with this level of polish… man I was sold,” said Rushton. “Once he told me the album was a massive world-building story that will continue with future albums; it was the icing on the cake for me. I’m a big fan of reading sci-fi novels so this was right up my alley.”
Ritsick continues “Where the first album focused on the Immortal Son and the zombie apocalypse, The False Path is the tale of the villain, Hivemind, and the ensuing battle between his soldiers and the Immortal Son’s zombie horde. We have a lot of cool things planned to further develop the story but we’re going to keep that to ourselves for now.”
